This course will teach you to recognize and overcome the common problems facing everyone starting in photography. You will be entertained by your instructor as he shares over thirty years of adventures and misadventures as an international photo-journalist. Topics covered: The art of seeing, equipment, photographing people (formal & candid), working with children and pets, scenic (seascapes/landscapes), and introduction to Photoshop. Portrait Photography:(3wks)

Learn to produce professional quality portraits of friends, family, or start your own portrait business. The course covers both formal (studio) and candid (environmental/journalistic) techniques. Learn the tricks-of-the-trade that has allowed your instructor to produce over a hundred magazine covers. Topics covered: equipment, lighting, directing your model, legal issues, working with publishers, keeping it simple and profitable. By the end of the course you will have a sizeable portfolio of quality portraits. A professional studio set-up will be available for your use.

Photojournalism:(3wks)

This course will show you how to earn money by having your photos published in magazines, newspapers, calendars, and trade journals. Your photos could even earn you free vacations. You will learn how to produce the sort of material publishers, ad agencies, and tour companies are looking for. Topics covered: Researching your market, building a portfolio, how to submit your ideas/photos, legal issues, organization (images/receipts), keeping it simple and profitable. This course is for experienced photographers wanting to take their work to the next level and make money as they do.

Adventures in Photography (holiday edition):(3wks)

This course covers the same material as the original Adventures in Photography but with greater emphasis on using all that new equipment you got from Santa! “Make a Movie” Spring Break Camp (Ages 6-16)

Be an actor! Shout out, “Lights! Camera! Action!” We’ve got the script. If you wish to act, you can audition. Film Making Foundations (All ages):(6 classes)

From a good story you will need to find good locations, good actors and know how to film, light and adjust audio. Each of these elements are covered in this class. From initial planning to completion of a full fledged TV show. You will learn the digital cameras, lighting, audio, directing, and editing. We will use class members as the talent. Get certified to use the studio for public access with this class. Certification means you can make shows for free in the studio as long as it is for public broadcast on ACCtv. Build Your Own Web Site-the easy way (Ages 16-Adult):(5wks)

Make a website using WordPress for business or personal use. You can tell the world what you think, show things you make or just brag about the Grandkids with words, images and video. Learn how to research and purchase a domain, get it hosted, and put up your own website with WordPress software. You can find a great theme that says you… and customize it with the over 10,000 available plugins and widgets.

Preserving the Family History:(3 classes)

Remember when ... There are family stories that get told over and over again. But do you have the details right? Bring out the pictures, the clippings, the souvenirs and tell the story of your family. Have a chat with grandpa (or grandma, or Uncle Joe) in the studio to get the story straight. The final DVD is yours for posterity, a treasure that your grandchildren will cherish. (Additional fee $25 to have the instructor give a final edit to your story.)

We will now incorporate traditional tangles with the elements of design and color and create a fabulous greeting card! This is a great way to spend quality, creative and fabulously fun time with your kid/s! In this one-day class both adult and child will create a unique and delightful hand-built cup and saucer!
