Western Nevada College welcomes new ROADS coordinator Kara Spracklin

Western Nevada College is delighted to announce the hiring of 2011 WNC graduate Kara Spracklin as the new Realizing Opportunities for the American Dream to Succeed (ROADS) program coordinator.

Helping students succeed has encompassed Spracklin’s professional career as the previous coordinator of Student Success at the University of Nevada, Reno, and now in her new role at WNC: “I’m excited that I’m able to work with students from rural communities, meet new colleagues and expand opportunities for students to be successful academically, professionally and personally.”

Douglas County public elections office moves location

The Douglas County Public Elections Office has moved locations. While still located in the Historic Courthouse at 1616 8th St, Minden, the office is now located in a different section of the building. See the attached map for the new location below.

University of Nevada, Reno and Nevada DMV offer special 150th anniversary license plates

Beginning Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 and available for one year, Nevada residents can order official license plates or souvenir plates (non-legal license plates for decoration) from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles with the special University sesquicentennial logo.
