Roper’s HVAC delivers 50 new cooling fans for Carson City seniors

Carson City's Max Casino plays host to inaugural July 4 Hot Dog Eating Championship

Six contestants will go bun-to-bun to see who can eat 10 hot dogs the fastest in 10-minutes. The winner will walk away with the Max Casino “Top Dog” Championship trophy and $500 cash. Second place will walk away with $100 cash.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 07/02/2023 - 4:23pmBeing a former USFS employee of the Carson Ranger District and the timber crew supervisor in the 1980s, im appalled at the lack of timber management going on in this district.
Not even salvage cutting is being done in the huge fire of two years ago that burned a good part of Alpine county and Markleeville areas. All that timber has been left to rot on the stem and will soon be falling creating fuels for the next burn down the road.
