Thunderstorm threat prompts Red Flag fire warning for Carson City, northern Nevada region

Hot dry weather along with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms ahead have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Red Flag fire weather warning and a heat advisory for the Carson City area and throughout northern Nevada.

The National Weather Service based in Reno issued a tornado warning over the hill in Lassen County today, due to the fire in Loyalton.

Carson City deputies make drug, warrant arrests

A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 2500 block of Kit Sierra for parole and probation violation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

According to the report, Lindsie Newman was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies after they learned that Newman, a parolee absconder, was staying at a residence on Kit Sierra Way.
