The first LGBTQ and Friends Social will be Saturday, March 14th, 2-5pm at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint. Your RSVP is required for the luncheon. The luncheon is $12 per person NOT including gratuity. Please be generous to your server.

Please RSVP by end of day Friday, March 13th. Email your RSVP to cvlgbtqandfriends@gmail.com. You can decide your menu selections when at Sassafras.

Nevada cruise ship passengers being evaluated for coronavirus

Carson City, NV – Forty Nevadans who were passengers on the Grand Princess cruise ship are being contacted by health authorities to assess their health and any symptoms that may be consistent with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The passengers disembarked from the ship on Feb. 21.

The case that was announced as a presumptive positive through the Washoe County Health District was a passenger on the ship which also included passengers from other states who have since tested positive for COVID-19.

Injury accident reported at Goni and Hot Springs

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday an injury accident was reported in the intersection of Goni and Hot Springs Road.

Injuries are reported and the intersection is blocked. Motorists need to seek alternate routes. Delays are expected.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office asks for help in identifying attempted robbery suspect

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is releasing information about an attempted Robbery that occurred at the Chevron (1102 N Carson Street, Carson City, Nevada).

The suspect entered the Chevron wearing a white cloth covering his face. He pointed a black semi-automatic type firearm at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk did not release any money and the suspect left the Chevron. He was last seen walking southbound on Carson Street from E William Street.

Non-injury accident reported on Roop involving vehicle and light pole

According to dispatch, a non-injury accident was reported at 2:15 on Roop Street. A vehicle pulling a trailer appears to have lost control and struck a light pole. There are no injuries reported at this time.

Motorists should use alternate routes or use caution in the area.

Lyon County officials propose instating new 5 cent diesel tax

The Lyon County Board of Commissioners proposed an ordinance to set a 5 cent per gallon tax on diesel fuel.

The Board heard public testimony both in support and opposition. The Board will conduct a second hearing currently scheduled for March 19, 2020.

Dbacks’ prospect Leyba suspended 80 games for PEDs

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Domingo Leyba has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for the PED Boldenone, Kyle Glazer of Baseball America and multiple sources reported on Friday.
