Muscle Powered Bike Ride Sunday March 8

Meet at Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Rd, Carson City, NV 89701, in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail.

March 12 – V & T Trail - South end, to walk north. Meet at Long Ranch Park, corner of Longview Way and Bristol Place.

Muscle Powered hosts Tuesday morning walk at Silver Saddle Ranch

Muscle Powered is a local non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building. The March 10 morning walk will be at Silver Saddle Ranch to Mexican Dam. Meet near the red barns on Silver Saddle Ranch on Carson River Road. Dirt trail. From Carson River Road turn into the dirt road by Silver Saddle Ranch sign. Follow the signs on the one way road to parking lot.

Vehicle collision reported at Spooner Junction

A vehicle crash was reported at 3:10 p.m. Saturday at Spooner Junction.

Injuries are unknown at this time.

Motorists should seek alternate routes or use caution in the area.

Carson City Library director becomes Nevada Library Association’s president-elect

Carson City Library Director Dr. Tod Colegrove is the new president-elect of the Nevada Library Association (NLA), voted in at the turn of the year and assuming his new role as president in 2021.

Vehicle accident with injury reported on College and Nye

A two-vehicle accident with injury was reported at 12:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon near the intersection of College Parkway and Nye.

Motorists should seek alternate routes as the intersection is at least partially blocked at this time.

Carson City man arrested for allegedly attacking house after being unable to contact ex-girlfriend

A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of E Nye Lane and Tonni Street for violation of bail conditions after a call came in about a possible residential burglary.

The reporting party stated they knew the man, who was banging on their front door and their kitchen window. The man in question is under supervision with the Department of Alternative Sentencing and had a condition to not contact the victim, who was the man’s ex-girlfriend.

***The Comstock will go nuts on Saturday, March 14 at its annual pre-St. Patrick’s Day warmup and festival like no other where the revelry is wild, the beer flows icy green and the food orders of the day pay homage to the parts of the male cow anatomy that usually wind up snipped.

Carson City Humane Society’s Pet of the Week: Taz

Happy Saturday Carson City! Say hello to our newest Pet of the Week, Taz!

Taz is a 3 and a half year old Labrador mix and he is currently searching for his forever family!

Taz would prefer an adult only home, and to be the only dog. What can we say, he knows what he wants, and he wants to hog the attention!

Taz is also a PUPS graduate! Congratulations Taz!
