Relay for Life of Carson City, Douglas County

Save the date and join us at Mills Park on Oct. 5, 2019 for Relay for Life of Carson City and Douglas County. It will be a day to CELEBRATE, REMEMBER AND FIGHT BACK and we work towards ending those words "YOU HAVE CANCER"! There will be food, music and entertainment to celebrate the day. This year we have added a 5K to Relay that will be a glow run starting at 6:30pm.

July initial unemployment claims in Nevada climb, but substantially down over year

CARSON CITY — July initial claims for unemployment insurance benefits totaled nearly 9,870, up just over 400 claims, or 4.4 percent compared to June, but are down substantially when compared to last year’s July reading of 10,550, according to a report released Tuesday by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
