Carson City Fire Department knocked down a fence fire on Wednesday afternoon that started in the backyard of a residence in 1100 block of Monte Rosa Drive.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon in the area of Highway 50 West and the I-580 freeway, also known as Spooner Junction.

Carson City Parks and Recreation to host Ross Gold Park master plan information meeting

Ross Gold Park is one of the oldest parks within the City’s park system and is located at 280 Appion Way. As part of the efforts to reinvest in aging park infrastructure, the City released a survey in April, 2019 to get the community’s input on changes to the park’s master plan.

CARSON CITY — The Carson Nugget is pleased to announce that we will be opening a new bar on the main casino floor called the Lucky 7 Bar. The Lucky 7 Bar will be a full service vodka themed slot bar with specialty vodka drinks, draft beer, and a margarita machine. There will be 24 seats including a lounge, and 14 new bar-top slot machines.

We are hosting a job fair on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. to fill beverage positions as well as other positions casino-wide. All levels of experience are invited to attend the event which takes place in the Events Center on the 2nd floor in Room B of the casino on N. Carson Street.

Pony Express makes its way through Carson City, Jacks Valley and into Genoa

The Pony Express made its way into Carson City on Wednesday afternoon, heading into town with a breeze and about 40 minutes behind schedule. The mochila exchange was made at Second and Curry streets. It had arrived in the capital city after a stop at Fort Churchill State Park in Silver Springs.

The Pony Express then went through Jacks Valley on its way to Genoa before heading over Kingsbury Grade and onward to Lake Tahoe.
