After an action-packed Nevada Day Saturday, Sunday traditions carry on, such as the 35th Annual La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the Carson Colony gym. Take the kids up to Virginia City for one last chance to catch Thomas the Tank Engine at the V & T Depot. It may be a little rainy, but the show must go on at the NV Day Carnival and Festival at Mills Park.

Nevada Day annually brings out the Silver State's best by celebrating its citizens of all ages, state and local organizations, civic clubs, school marching bands, small businesses, companies and corporations, fire and police departments, military services, veterans and lawmakers. It's the biggest annual statehood party celebrated in the nation.

Carson City weather: Valley rain and Sierra snow expected Sunday

While Carson City was treated to a Nevada Day that brought sunny afternoon skies following some early morning fog, quite the opposite is in store for Sunday, with rain in the valley and snow in the Sierra, according to the National Weather Service.

Happy Birthday Nevada. Today is Nevada Day 2016 and the parade is underway. Here's some early photos along the newly revitalized downtown Carson Street corridor, which was celebrated in true Carson City fashion on Friday with a ribbon cutting and street party.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office recent bookings: Deputies make theft, drug and DUI arrests

A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday 1:38 p.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street for two felony warrants alleging burglary and fraud as well as drug charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Lost Dog Update: Kizzy the Red Cattle Dog spotted south of Carson City

New sightings of Kizzy the red cattle dog, who escaped from her owner at Fuji Park on Oct. 2, have been made. The elusive medium-build, pointy-eared, short red-haired dog was recently seen behind Costco as well as across the highway at Western Nevada Supply Company.
