Firefighting plane makes emergency landing at Minden-Tahoe Airport; 2 dead in Utah desert tanker crash

A fire bomber air tanker owned by Minden Air Corp, made a successful emergency landing on its belly today at the Minden-Tahoe Airport in Carson Valley.

Join the League to Save Lake Tahoe and the U.S. Forest Service for a weed pull on the evening of June 28th in Rabe Meadows near Stateline, Nevada. Volunteers will be helping to remove invasive weeds that are threatening Tahoe’s native plant species and wildlife habitat. Learn about invasive weeds and how to properly remove them. Push America - Bike Riding to bring awareness of children with special needs, will make their annual visit to Carson City with an overnight visit with The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City.

Come at 2pm to meet these great guys, and enjoy Storytime and Arts & Crafts along with a special Bike Clinic.

The Children's Museum is located at 813 North Carson Street, Carson City.

Gun fired inside South Lake Tahoe bar, man arrested

A single gunshot was fired inside a South Lake Tahoe bar early Sunday morning that missed patrons after an argument between two men, authorities said.
The incident happened at around 1:40 a.m. at Whiskey Dick's, 2660 Lake Tahoe Blvd. A local man was arrested in the incident. There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire. Minor injuries were reported that resulted from a fight.
