But today is your last chance the to cast your ballot and help determine who will face off in the general election. For Carson City residents, there are two polling locations, at the Community Center and Fuji Park. You can check out the city's Elections Department web page here for more details.

Crime Log: Carson City officers busy over the weekend with numerous felony arrests

- David William Koapke, 32, a Minot, S.D. man, for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines). Koapke was also arrested for the misdemeanor allegation of petit larceny. Bail is set at $2,750 plus administrative fees.
Southern Nevadans Oppose Plan To Eliminate Local Workforce Development Board

Brian Sandoval to consolidate the two local boards in an effort to make more money available to train the unemployed.

Submitted by admin on Mon, 06/11/2012 - 10:30amThere will be nightly lane closures on US 395 from the junction of US 50W (Spooner) to 1st Street in Minden, Sunday through Thursday, between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. There will be flagger controlled traffic. Northbound US 395 will have grooved pavement from Ironwood Drive to
Jacks Valley Road. Please drive with caution.
There will be work at the following locations as a result of the Freeway Landscaping Project. No closures are expected unless otherwise noted.
- North Carson Street, in the vicinity of the freeway overpass.
Mile High Jazz Band presents Jazz & Poetry
Submitted by admin on Mon, 06/11/2012 - 10:19amThe Mile High Jazz Band and guest vocalist Pat Esters will be joined by several poets and readers for a lively evening of big-band music and poetry with an animal theme. Poets names will be drawn from a hat for each reading, followed by a big band tune. The event will be on Tuesday, June 12, 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., at Comma Coffee, outdoors in the courtyard, weather permitting. Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street, is across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City. Admission is $5 general and free for age 18 and under.
