Crime Log: two Carson City men arrested for attempted burglary

Carson City Sheriff's deputies have arrested the following people for felony allegations:

  • Jaime Rosaschi, 49, a Carson City man, at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rosaschi was arrested for attempted burglary and attempted larceny, as well as a misdemeanor allegation of evading arrest. Bail is set at $23,000.
  • Jeremy Weedmark, 26, a Carson City man, at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Weedmark was arrested for attempted burglary and attempted larceny. Bail is set at $22,500.

First Bike Polo Games of the Season

The dark clouds were threatening, and it was a bit breezy, but most of the core group of polo riders rode down to the old bank for the first game of the year regardless. The gang has been itching to play for months, ever since the early sunsets of autumn that finally shut down the games last year.

Carson City children need CASA Volunteers!

CASA of Carson City will hold an Information Hour on May 21, 5:30pm, at the CASA of Carson City office, 1539 E. 5th St. Carson City. CASA volunteers are appointed for to speak up for the best interest of children removed from their parents custody due to abuse or neglect. Being a CASA volunteer requires research, communication, patience and caring. It is rewarding and challenging. CASA volunteers make a difference for kids.

McKeen motor car to ride the rails for National Train Day

Celebrating National Train Day, the Nevada State Railroad Museum’s historic 1910 McKeen motor car will ride the rails from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12 in Carson City.

Now a stellar attraction for rail enthusiasts and family fun, the McKeen Motor car operated from 1910 to 1945 racking up more than a half-million miles between Reno and Minden. The prestigious car became a diner and an office but was rescued by the museum when it was donated by the Bernhard family of Carson City in 1995.

Carson City Sheriff's Open House to include free admission, food, children's activities

The Carson City Sheriff's Office will be hosting their ninth annual Sheriff's Open House from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at their location at 911 E. Musser St. There will be free food while supplies last, a free child ID kit for every child present, and free activities for children of all ages. Crime Log: Carson City woman violates protection order

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Emma Jeanne Grim, 85, a Carson City retiree, at around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon. Grim was arrested for a violation of an extended protection order after she was alleged to have stood in the protected person's yard and began yelling at him. Bail has been set at $10,000.

The following individuals were also arrested for misdemeanor allegations:

  • A 68-year-old Reno man for first-offense DUI, failure to maintain a lane, and a basic speed violation.

Cycle Pub Nevada comes to Carson City

About a year and a half ago, I met Mike Ball down at the Tap Shack, a little hole in the wall bar in downtown Carson City. He and a couple other of my friends were discussing building a bar on wheels that could be pedaled around town. While it sounded very cool, I passed it off as one of those crazy ideas that bubbles up after a few pints of beer. Something akin to quitting your job and backpacking across Spain, or the ultimate bank heist. It sounded like too much effort to me.
