CARSON CITY — Xquisite is thrilled to announce its third annual golf tournament, set to take place on Oct. 2, 2023, at the picturesque Toiyabe Golf Club in Washoe Valley. The team is eager to host this year's event, building on the success of previous tournaments.

Xquisite is a non-profit dedicated to walking alongside survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Xquisite educates and spreads awareness of the reality of these cases in our own communities.

Carson City Fire Department was called Sunday evening to a fire burning again at the landfill off of Flint Drive.

The fire is putting up light smoke, according to first responders on scene. The fire was called into dispatch at around 6:25 p.m. No structures are threatened. The fire is around 200 feet by 200 feet in size.

One of the chief joys in my life is to go fly fishing with my Marine Corps buddy, Marlboro Man. Craig Fellin runs a successful Montana outfitters resort, the Big Hole Lodge, with his son, Wade.

Craig will walk the banks of the Wise on the day before we arrive and kick over logs to see what’s hatching. Once we arrive, we get to watch him tie a fly, perhaps a Wooly Bugger, that no self-respecting trout can refuse.

UPDATE 2PM: CCFD Battalion Chief Chris Mason said the fire involved a single family, single story residence in which fire was involved in one room but didn't spread anywhere else in structure. One person was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons, otherwise there were no injuries. The fire was knocked down within minutes of arrival.
