'No Echo, No Problem' says South Shore Tahoe; incentives offered to Highway 50 travelers

South Lake Tahoe lodging providers are offering value-added deals to make the time pass more quickly as a detour for Highway 50 over Echo Summit will divert traffic for about two weeks.

Wally Cuchine, a champion of the Arts, officially retired April 8 with a big send up from people from around the State, including proclamations of “Wally Cuchine Day” from Governor Brian Sandoval and Reno Mayor Bob Cashell at a concert at the Eureka Opera House with Ralph Cuda and the Dixieland Boys.

I did not have the luck to see the first three versions of the "Scream" franchise, so I can't compare "Scream 4" currently playing at the Fandango Galaxy multiplex in Carson City. But I suspect this version is just as bloody as the earlier three. Where's the Red Cross when you really need it?

December occupancy was up three percent compared to last year (Smith Travel Research). The No. 1 ski destination in the U.S. (Rand McNally 2011; TripAdvisor 2010) has seen a rise of 1.7 percent through Reno-Tahoe International Airport since July; 14 percent more skiers and snowboarders on the slopes, increased bookings over holiday weekends, and advance reservations for summer.
