Carson Animal Services Initiative would like to thank everyone who joined us on May 18 for our annual Woofs, Wine and Whiskers wine tasting event. Once again people came together to help animals in need, and we are grateful!
CASI continues to assist the community through our Critter Fixer low-cost spay/neuter voucher program for low-income applicants.

Heading into Saturday, May 18, 2019 we say welcome to the weekend Carson City. Activities abound throughout the region. Bring an umbrella as the forecast calls for some showers. But above all, enjoy the events and activities lined up in Carson City, Carson Valley, Mound House, Silver City, Virginia City and Dayton areas.

Join Carson Animal Service Initiative this Saturday in Carson City for an evening of music, wine, appetizers, and auctions, both silent and live, all to help animals in need.

Carson Animal Services Initiative, also known as CASI, will host its annual Woofs, Wine and Whiskers on June 22 at the Governor's Mansion. Even though the Carson City shelter has been built, CASI is still working hard to assist animals in need through programs such as Critter Fixer, our low cost spay and neuter voucher program.

On Saturday, August 19th, CASI hosted our annual Woofs, Wine and Whiskers, and we would like to thank the wonderful businesses and individuals who donated their products, time and skills to help CASI put on another great event.

Make this weekend something special. School starts up on Monday and it will be Halloween before we blink an eye. The Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival at Battle Born Harley boasts a full day of live music, vendors, activities and family fun. Bowers Mansion plays host to the annual Bluegrass Festival – bring a picnic and enjoy. Downtown Carson City will see the first of three monthly Beer Crawls; if you get there early, head over to Remedy’s to witness their yearly Bloody Mary Competition. There is something for everyone this weekend, so keep reading and find your fun.

The event will be catered by the Casino Fandango who has prepared wonderful appetizers to pair with the wines to be tasted. The evening will include a presentation of CASI's past accomplishments, along with continued and future goals for helping the areas homeless pets.

The wine walk is on the top of the weekend to-do list for many of you, but Carson City has a lot more going on. Ascent Runs is hosting a 5/10K and a half marathon at C-Hill on Saturday. You can register at the race, just make sure you aren’t late. Youth Football season has arrived with sign-ups for SYFL and Pop Warner on Saturday. Cheer on the Western Nevada College Wildcats as their Baseball and Softball teams battle against Salt Lake City Community College.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the CASI 5K9 and the CASI Pooch Plunge to support our efforts to help Carson City build the new animal shelter. Smiles were everywhere as the tails wagged behind running and swimming dogs! The people in our community continue to be incredibly supportive of CASI’s mission to help homeless, abandoned and lost animals have the best chance possible at being adopted or reunited with families that love them. Thank you!!

The event will take place at the Carson City Nugget on February 7th from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. The evening event will include wine tasting, appetizers, chocolate and entertainment.
