Morning vehicle thefts around Carson City on the rise as motorists warm cars unattended

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office urges morning commuters not to leave their vehicles unattended with their engines running. Around 6:30 a.m. Friday a black two-door Honda Accord was stolen from a Pheasant Drive residence as the vehicle owner stepped away from his running car.

Carson City deputies arrest man suspected of overnight vehicle burglaries

UPDATE: Carson City deputies arrested a man Wednesday night in connection with a string of vehicle thefts overnight after authorities learned of his whereabouts. Donald Ray McNeill, 45, of Carson City, faces felony charges related to possession of stolen property, vehicle burglary and parole violation, said Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

McNeill was found to be in possession of stolen property associated with the vehicle thefts, said McDaniel. He had a prior conviction for burglary and was on parole for that. Bail: $45,274.

Carson City deputies arrest second person involved in Honda Accord thefts

A second person has been arrested in connection to at least two Honda Accord thefts, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Jonathan Baumgardner, 31, was arrested Sunday in the 3000 block of Melanie Lane and faces five felony charges, including two counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, auto burglary and tampering. He’s being held on $75,000 bail.

Arrest made in string of Carson City vehicle thefts; authorities investigate connection to stolen Toyota trucks

An unemployed Carson City man and a Gardnerville woman face multiple felony charges after they admitted to a string of stolen vehicle thefts and burglaries over the past few days.

Paul Allen Jennings, 39, of Carson City, and Shadine Ford, 24, of Gardnerville, face several felony charges after authorities found the pair hiding in the bushes after admitting they broke into a Carson City home. The pair also told authorities they had been involved in several vehicle burglary and break-ins over the past few days because, they said, they needed the money.
