The injured bear was found in Incline Village at around 8 a.m. Game wardens had been informed the bear was hurt, possibly by a vehicle, and was observed not being able to use its back legs. Hello fellow anglers, Time is running short if you plan on fishing the rivers in Alpine County.
November 15, 2013 is the last day to fish on any of the rivers in California, with the exception of a few that will remain open to catch and release.

In our local area, the east fork of the Carson River from Hangman's Bridge to the Nevada state line is on that list.
Check your CDFW regulation book for other tributaries that will remain open. All of the lakes in Inyo and Mono Counties will also close on November 15th.

Outdoors with Don Q: Trout fishing at Pyramid Lake in November

If you are a trout fisherman, you might want to consider taking a fishing trip (or more than one) to Pyramid Lake this month to fish for Lahontan Cutthroat trout that can run up to double digits in weight.

Old timers told me, many years ago, that the two months of November and March are the best times of the year to fish at that large desert lake, north of Reno-Sparks. And, through the years, I have found that to be true, even though I have fished at Pyramid many other months of the year.

Hello fellow anglers, the weather is cooling and the sun now setting at 7:30 p.m. A few things to remember this time of year. The yellow jackets and the bears are out in full force getting ready for winter hibernation. Both fierce and are looking for all the food they can get. But we have to remember that feeding bears is against the law.

ANGEL LAKE, ELKO COUNTY, NEV:
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (http://www.ndow.org) reports:
Fishing varies from day to day, with some days being good, while others being slow. Best time of day is from about 6:00 am to 10:30 am and then again after the shadows start to hit the water in late afternoon.
Best conditions seem to be with a 5 to 10 mph breeze, putting a small chop on the water.
A few fish are being taken with small dry flies, mostly yellow in color, but most of the luck is still coming with nymphs below an indicator or dry fly.
