A Carson High School senior will be working on transforming C Hill back to its original design this Saturday as part of an Eagle Scout project.

Carson Tahoe Health unveils first ever ‘Karma Boxes’ to help those in need

Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) is unveiling several “Karma Boxes” (wooden/Plexiglas donation cabinets) at its various locations to house toiletries, first-aid items, and nonperishable foods for those in need, all available at any time and at no cost.

This simple, yet powerful concept is best summed up by its slogan, “If it’s empty, fill it. If you need it, it’s yours.”

Boy Scout unveils Eagle Project at Carson City's St. Peters Episcopal Church

Local Scout Preston Emborsky, 15, Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 341, unveiled his 4th Karma Box at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Carson City on Sunday as part of his Eagle project. A Karma box is something you can put toiletries and non perishable food items in for the needy. Anyone can donate to it and anyone can take from it.

Carson City Cub Scouts Collecting Christmas Trees for Camp Fundraising, Wildlife Sanctuary

Carson City Cub Scout Troop 341 of Carson City is asking community members for donations to help send our local scouts to cub scout camp this summer in exchange for recycling Christmas trees, which will be donated to a wildlife sanctuary for animal enrichment.

Carson City Boy Scouts honor fallen veterans with cemetery service project

On Sunday, Nov. 18, Carson City’s Boy Scout Troop 341 completed a service project as part of Daniel Nellis’s Eagle Scout project. This project took place out at Lone Mountain Cemetery with the goal of honoring the dead, specifically Veterans.

Carson City Eagle Scout leads effort to clean up C Hill

Parker Lehmann of Carson City led an effort Saturday morning to clean up weeds and other vegetation around the "C" on C Hill and to move the painted rocks back into their original position.

Heroism Awards presented to Carson City Scouts Jeremiah Beauford and Eli Thomas

Nevada Boy Scouts celebrated the awarding of not one but two Heroism Awards at Carson City Troop 341’s Court of Honor recently at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Carson City. Dozens of Scouts, Scouters and parents applauded Jeremiah Beauford and Eli Thomas as each young man received the Life Saving Award as each Scout had saved the life of his younger brother. On hand to make the special presentation was Nevada Area Council President Jeff Whitaker.

Carson City Boy Scouts to collect food for FISH on Saturday at Wal-Mart

Boy Scout Troop 341 of Carson City will hold a Food Drive for Friends in Service Helping, otherwise known as FISH, on Saturday, June 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wal-Mart locations on Retail Drive and Topsy Lane.

Canned foods and non-perishable items are welcome. Items collected will help feed children and families during the summer.
