Free Nevada Outdoor Experience Youth Expo

The Nevada Outdoor Experience is co-sponsored by the Wild Sheep Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. The goal of the free event is to excite and inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.

National Trails Day 2019: Carson City celebrates its biggest gathering

National Trails Day was last Saturday, June 1 and Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space celebrated by having more than 70 trail builders and supporters along, including Mayor Bob Crowell, making it our biggest National Trails Day event yet.

Tahoe Rim Trail Talk, 'a trail like no other' featured at Carson City BRIC

Nevada bicycle and pedestrian leaders recognized for advocacy

Former Tahoe Rim Trail Association director Mark Kimbraugh and Carson City Muscle Powered's Kelly Clark were among several Silver State cycling and hiking advocates recognized recently by the Nevada Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board.
 
Awards were presented at the 12th annual Nevada Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit in Reno. The board praised individuals, agencies and groups for improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities, safety and advocacy.

First-ever Lake Tahoe Nordic festival set for Feb. 8-10

Alpenglow Sports has teamed up with Tahoe Cross Country to present the first-ever Lake Tahoe Nordic Festival Friday, February 8 through Sunday, February 10. Lake Tahoe agency names Best in The Basin awards for projects and contractors

Recognized for stewardship and care taken in the building and construction of developments around Lake Tahoe, the 22nd annual Best in the Basin awards were announced Tuesday by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.
The TRPA, which sets policy for development around Lake Tahoe, will recognize the winners, listed below, during the 2011 Best in the Basin awards presentation during the meeting of its Governing Board on Wednesday, Feb. 22 in Stateline. Go here for the agenda.

Snowshoe treks on tap throughout Tahoe

There's plenty going on out there for snowshoe fans around Lake Tahoe. I've enjoyed the sport but haven't tried the big foot stuff of late. Here's what's snowshoeing these days:
