Nevada State Bank Secured Approval For 4200+ PPP Loans, Helping Northern Nevada Businesses And NonProfits
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 05/15/2020 - 4:27pmRENO - Based on processed applications as of May 13, 2020, Nevada State Bank has announced approval for 4,255 U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling $592,005,500.
More than 68% of the loans were made to businesses with fewer than 10 employees and approximately 82% of the loans approved were for amounts less than $150,000 (57% for amounts less than $50,000). The funding will help preserve payrolls for 65,607 Nevada jobs, based on applicant data.

Home school students are creating street art during their art/recess part of their da. The Dayton teachers have come out to let their students know they they are thinking of them. The teachers encouraged stay at home students and showed support by driving around Dayton neighborhoods today while honking their horns, and decorating their cars with balloons and positive signs.

Steve Sisolak has extended all of the state’s emergency actions to mitigate spread of COVID-19 — including closure of public and private schools, a nonessential business shutdown and ban on large gatherings — until the end of April, while urging state residents to shelter in place.
The governor’s updated order, released by his office Wednesday morning, is the latest signal by state authorities that the massive disruptions to normal public life needed to combat the spread of the virus are nowhere near over yet.

Steve Sisolak announced 16 of Nevada’s 17 school districts — among them being Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties — and all of Nevada’s charter schools submitted plans to the Nevada Department of Education and are approved to continue or start distance education.
