Nugget Project: Business incubator losing steam?
Submitted by admin on Tue, 11/23/2010 - 8:04amOne of the things that came out at Monday night's Nugget Project advisory was a setback for the business incubator part of the project.
It was announced by project consultant Mark Lewis that C4Cube, the business incubator in Reno that was considering operating the planned Carson City incubator, was no longer a part of their discussions. We don't know exactly what happened, but not having an experienced operator could threaten this part of the project.

Submitted by Kirk Caraway on Sat, 09/11/2010 - 10:40amThe dispute between the Mom & Pop's Diner owner Doug Cramer and Brewery Arts Center director John Procaccini is heading for small claims court.
I wrote about this dispute back in June, adding to the story from the Appeal on the subject.
In short, Cramer signed a contract that included a diagram that showed where the bars operated by Mom & Pop's and Firkin & Fox were to be located. But those locations were changed in a way that Cramer claims was detrimental to his business, cutting off access to the bulk of the crowd. Procaccini admits that changes were made to the bar locations, but doesn't agree that the changes constitutes a breach of contract.
