Carson City Girl Scout Troop 105 is collecting new, used, unwearable, and out grown shoes. Shoes can be dropped of at Bordewich, Seeliger, Fremont, and Empire Elementary Schools until May 31.

The Reno Blues Society is putting a new spin on the pub crawl craze with the inaugural “Balloons and Blues Strut” on September 10 at five venues on East 4th Street with a local blues band at each venue playing between 5:30 and 9:30pm, all for just $5.

It’s balloon race weekend so to encourage those folks looking for earlier entertainment that day, they would have an option.

Preparations are underway for Carson City's largest community public safety rally set to happen tonight at Mills Park. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will hosts its annual National Night Out from 5 p.m. to 8 pm. This will be the 14th year that the Sheriff’s Office has held this free public event that annually draws thousands of participants.

In association with the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides project, WNC’s Auto Body Technology department repaired its second vehicle for donation to a worthy individual. And for the second time, State Farm Insurance donated a vehicle to for WNC to restore. A college committee selected the recipient.

5th Annual CHS Safe and Sober 5k Run/Walk a Success

The 5th annual CHS Safe and Sober 5k Run/Walk was a tremendous success with turn-out of 113 participants. The weather cleared up this morning and with just a bit of wind at race time, we couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather, maybe even a sunburn.

Please join us on February 7th at 10:00a.m. for the fifth annual Carson High School Safe Grad - Safe & Sober 5K Run/Walk. This event is organized by volunteers of the Safe Grad Committee and will be held, once again, at the CHS Track/Field.

Carson High Safe Grad program has been an annual tradition in Carson City since 1988. It provides our graduating seniors with a safe and sober, all night celebration on the evening of their graduation, followed by an optional trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom amusement park in Northern California.
