The Carson Lanes Country Kickers, a dance group that meets and dances weekly at Carson Lanes’ Eleventh Frame Lounge, will bring their skill, enthusiasm and fun to the first, in what hopefully will be the first of many country dance nights on the spring-loaded dance floor at Piper’s.

Beyond the weather we're looking at a blockbuster day and night filled will activities throughout town. From library presentations, a TV show casting call at the Carson Nugget, an afternoon hike, to a train history presentation, a book signing at the Brewery Arts Center, a CHS theater performance and the Carson City movie screening premier of "The Mustang" filmed at the historic Nevada State Prison, there's something for everyone. Young Women pursuing STEM Fields to be honored by Society of Women Engineers in Reno banquet

High school teachers from around the region are invited to nominate female students in their classes to receive this award of merit. Those students who are nominated are then invited to attend the banquet –along with their friends, families, supporters and teachers – to receive a certificate and accolades on stage and with fanfare.

The film stars Cary Grant and Claudette Colbert in a lighthearted "road movie" long before Hope and Crosby came along.
The doors of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall (511 W. King Street) open at 6 p.m.; intro and trivia at 6:30 p.m. and the film showing at 7 p.m. General admission is $4 per person and the popcorn is always free!

Obituary: Kenneth Robert Taylor

Ken was born on April 7th, 1953 to John and Lois Taylor in San Francisco, CA and grew up in the California Bay area. Throughout his life, he always described himself as a "big kid", always full of adventure and making memories for his family.

Interview with Caitlin Jemma, international touring singer-songwriter from Virginia City

Today we'll see a slight chance of rain and snow after 10 a.m. with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 46. Saturday we are looking at partly sunny skies and a high in the low 50s.
Casino Boss and Friends at the Carson Comedy Club

These guys are all stars of the TV Pilot "Casino Boss" we started filming in August 2018. The show was recently picked up by Charter Network in Northern Nevada. Catch them on Channel 190 until the end of this month (January 2019).

Sitcom pilot filmed at Carson Nugget featuring SNL alum to air daily on Charter cable
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 12/24/2018 - 11:57amUPDATE: Episodes of the new television sitcom "Casino Boss" will begin airing Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 on Charter Spectrum Cable Channel 190, the Carson Nugget said.
The program will then air daily at 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. until Jan. 31, 2019.

UPDATE: Carson Nugget officials said Monday that the time and date for airing the TV sitcom "Casino Boss" have changed. It was to originally begin airing on Wednesday. We will update this when we have the correct start date.

The pilot episode of “Casino Boss,” a TV sitcom filmed this summer in Carson City about the inner workings of a casino starring comedian, actor and Saturday Night Live alum Joe Piscopo will be shown on Charter cable sometime in the near future.
