Seven funny comedy students from around the Carson Valley and Carson City areas earned their comedy wings on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, as they graduated from Kat Simmons' Stand Up Comedy Workshop.

And we're off as we count down the days until Saturday's Nevada Day celebration, the biggest statewide party of its kind or any kind for that matter. Going into the first day of the work week, Monday, Oct. 21, we're looking at sunshine and a high around 70. Events around the capital city include a lunch discussion on the Secret Witness program, art showings, West Coast swing dancing and more.

Carson Valley comedian Kat Simmons will offer her stand up comedy workshop only once this year. The six-week workshop will be held on Monday nights, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 through Nov. 11, 2019, at the COD Casino in Minden.

Acclaimed comedian and Carson Valley area resident funny woman Kat Simmons will be offering her fall stand up comedy work shop beginning Oct. 1 through Nov. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the COD Casino in Minden.

Jenna was born in Seoul, South Korea and lived there for approximately eight years until she moved to Provo, Utah.

Five brave souls took to the stage at the COD Casino in Minden on Monday, March 12. These students wrote and then performed their stand up comedy routine for a standing room only crowd.

While your morning commute will seem darker than usual, this evening will hold onto the sunshine longer. The first day after to work after the Daylight-Saving switch is always a little rough, so please drive carefully. Get some laughs this evening at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Local funny-lady, Kat Simmons, is hosting a showcase featuring the students of her most recent Stand Up Comedy workshop. Some of the humor may not be suitable for youngsters, so use your discretion. Kat Simmons' next stand up comedy class will begin again on Monday Feb. 5 at the COD Casino in Minden, on the non smoking side, in the meeting room. The class runs through March 12 and on that last night we will present a public showcase where the students will perform their routines.

The Carson Comedy Club presents the Best of Sean Peabody with material from his last 15 years of stand up comedy.

Sean will be mixing in old material including greatest hits such as the lawnmower, mom does chores and dad in the garage and new material to make one great set!
