Forest Service seeks input for Winter Travel Management at Lake Tahoe

The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit has released the Proposed Action for the Winter Recreation and Over Snow Vehicle Travel Management Project. The Proposed Action was developed based on Forest Service criteria and feedback received from stakeholders during the Forest Plan Revision process, open house meetings and winter recreation collaborative meetings that occurred between 2011 and 2016.

With a variety of winter weather conditions occurring across Nevada and Eastern California, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest would like to remind visitors to be extra careful while recreating this Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend and throughout winter.

Ready for the weekend and beyond: Sierra-at-Tahoe resort to open Friday

With a promising November that dropped early snow and brought sustained cold temperatures following the winter storms, Sierra-at-Tahoe is the latest Lake Tahoe area ski resort to open before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Sierra Resort will in fact open Friday with early season conditions and limited terrain. The resort will run three lifts and two surface lifts and its season passes and additional products from 2014-15 will be valid for use through Dec. 20.

Sierra-at-Tahoe opens Friday for 2015-16 winter season

The wait is over. Sierra-at-Tahoe will open for the 2015-16 Winter season on Friday with early season conditions and limited terrain. Sierra will run three lifts and two surface lifts. Season passes and additional products from 2014-15 will be valid for use through Dec. 20, 2015.

Sierra Resort at Lake Tahoe to open Thanksgiving Day

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort will open for the 2012-13 season on Thursday, Nov. 22, offering Easy Rider Express lift, Rock Garden lift, and three surface lifts, giving guests access to four trails including, Broadway, Easy Street, Echo, and Lower Sleighride. Building on the reputation as one of the nation’s top terrain park resorts, Sierra Resort™ will offer a small to medium jib park on Broadway consisting of multiple features including new boxes and rails, giving eager guests a chance to get their park legs back underneath them.
