Carson City Soroptimist will honor five Girls of the Month during its Program Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 23, noon until 1 p.m., at Glen Eagles Restaurant.

This meeting is open to the public, with prior reservations required. There is no charge to attend, however a plated lunch with choice of entrees, selected in advance, is available for $16. It's Backpack Attack time! Each year Carson City Soroptimist gathers hundreds of new backpacks, filling each with school and hygiene supplies. The filled backpacks are given to local elementary, middle, and high schools to distribute as needed.
