Easy Walk Program: Water and closed-toed shoes required.
Walks of 1 to 2 miles in length with none or negligible elevation gain, and frequently paved or smooth paths. The walks will usually be of approximately one hour in duration. If it rains or snows, meet at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) at 1860 Russell Way.

Muscle Powered Easy Hike to Empire Ranch Trail

Muscle Powered Easy Hike program are hikes of between 2 to 4 miles in length, often with some elevation gain (no more than 500') and can be on a paved path, smooth wide trail, or single track. The hikes will usually be of approximately 1 1/2 duration.

Even if you don’t play an instrument, voices are more than welcome to contribute to the tunes. Wintertime is perfect for curling up with a good book, join the Library’s Winter Read-a-thon to win some great prizes. Carson Cigar Company is throwing a party featuring Ev ‘Cheese the Knife’ Musselman of the Tripping King Snakes: they’ve been selling raffle tickets to benefit Food for Thought, so head down to support this great charity.

Watch ‘A Christmas Wish’ with Jimmy Durante at the monthly meeting of the Carson City Classic Cinema Club. Let the talented kids of ‘Strings in the Schools’ entertain you with their annual ‘This is Not a Christmas Concert’ Concert at the Community Center. If you need some bowl-full-of-jelly belly laughs, then the Super Santa Extravaganza, featuring some of the area’s funniest stand-up comics, is for you. You’ll find that in the Brewery Arts Center Black Box Theater. For a good dose of Christmas lights, head to the Johnson Lane area. Off Stephanie Lane, on Chaparral Court, is a spectacular display known as Nevada Christmas.

The brand-new Harmony Sculpture Park at the Brewery Arts Center is the perfect place to make some music: the ribbon cutting is at 1 p.m. The new FoodMax will open in early December and jobs are still available: the job fair at Job Connect will put you in the running. Let Firehouse Subs take care of dinner tonight, and do something for our local Relay for Life in the process. We are in for some wet weather over the next few days, so please slow down and watch for slick roads.
