Supervisor candidate lands endorsement from primary foes

The four people running for Carson City Supervisor Ward 1 who were eliminated in the June primary have all thrown their support behind candidate Rob Joiner.

Joiner released a letter today (attached below) signed by Paul R. Saucedo, Norm Scoggin, Sean Lehmann and Gary Schulz, proclaiming their support for Joiner.

Supervisor candidate forum tonight at Carson City Community Center

A candidates forum, hosted by the Carson City Arts and Culture Coalition, will be held tonight from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center. Carson Now will have live coverage.
The forum is free and open to the public.

Candidates for Carson City Supervisor will be answering questions at 6 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, at a forum put on by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

Candidate forums for Carson City seats set for April 12 and April 15

Important decisions lie ahead with voters in the upcoming elections for several Carson City elected offices.

The Carson City Chamber of Commerce will hold two primary candidates forums April 12 and April 15, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 North Carson Street. The event is free and open to the public. WNC Professor Robert Morin will serve as moderator and ask each candidate a series of three questions. The audience will have the opportunity to weigh in.

Auditor: I agree that renting an ice rink for 8 weeks is a poor investment, that’s why I’ve supported a permanent rink that could also be used in the summer as a splash pad.

Sean, Can’t belive you think that a taxpayer support for a small few is such a good idea. I belive the investment in the V & T was a much better communityinvestment than an ice rink for 8 weeks.

I always opposed the first 1/8 cent of sales tax to the V and T.

How about a novel idea? Why not return the 1/8 cents tax to the taxpayers. Simply agree to not use it. The city government seems only interested in raising both taxes and spending.
