November 27, 2023 - 1:00pm The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be KNVC General Manager Steve Funk. He will tell the story of Carson's community radio station from its humble beginnings in 2017 to today's diverse programmings that includes talk shows, news programs, serial dramas, and music genres that run the gamut from Rock, Pop, Blues and Jazz to Celtic, Retro, and Psychedelic.

December 5, 2022 - 1:00pm The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Kenneth T. Furlong, the 26th sheriff to serve Carson City and Ormsby County since 1861. Among the topics to be discussed will be school security, the Sheriff Department's deescalation policy, and what may be unintended consequences of current juvenile detention practices. He will also be prepared to field questions on any issues of concern to the community.

June 27, 2022 - 1:00pm Jim Peckham, Executive Director of Friends In Services Helping (FISH), will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Rural Northern Nevada’s largest and most complete social services program, FISH provides food, clothing, shelter and medical aid to the homeless, hungry and underemployed within our community, with the objective of helping families and individuals become self sufficient.

As always he is prepared to field questions on any and all topics on the minds of Carsonites, from whether black lives matter to whether Nevadans should defund the police. Kenny is the 26th sheriff to serve Carson City and Ormsby County since 1861 (not counting Sheriff Chon Wang, played by Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights).
