Thanks to the generosity of the community and the William N. Pennington Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada will be renovating all 12 bedrooms of the Ronald McDonald House in Reno.

The outpouring of support for RMHC at the recent Red Shoe Gala was overwhelming, as attendees donated $100,000 during the live auction and paddle raise portions of the event, which the Pennington Foundation offered to match in support of renovations to the 30-plus year old Ronald McDonald House. All $200,000 will be used for the remodeling project.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 30th annual Outhouse Races in Virginia City, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in Carson City, Fright Night at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, Oktoberfest at the Casino Fandango, the 26th annual 'Making a Difference' Golf Tournament and much more!

Four new heating, ventilating and air conditioning, furnaces and four programmable thermostats with sensors were installed at a reduced cost at Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada, a Reno non-profit that serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families with children in area hospitals.

Sierra Air, Inc., Carrier Corporation and Sigler Wholesale Distributors coordinated the procurement, transportation and installation of the energy-efficient components, providing approximately $23,209 of cost savings in equipment, material and labor.

(Sept 30, 2014) Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada, a local non-profit that houses families of children in area hospitals, will open the application period for its RMHC U.S. Scholarship Program on Oct. 1, 2014. Graduating high school students from northern Nevada with a grade point average above 2.7 are encouraged to visit www.rmhc-reno.org to apply before the Jan. 20, 2015, deadline.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada, a non-profit organization that houses families with children at local hospitals, will be bringing its Red Shoe Gala to the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno for a third year.
