Senator Square: Nevada Week of Respect
Submitted by admin on Sun, 09/27/2015 - 11:09amThis week is the official Nevada Week of Respect. The purpose of this week is to promote respect as an antidote to bullying and cyberbullying. Here is what is going on at CHS to celebrate the Week of Respect:
- The American Sign Language club is going to be signing songs at lunch on Thursday.
- The Gay-Straight Alliance is going to be putting up a respect wall - a giant poster for people to write what they respect about someone else.
- There will be a daily announcement with a tip on being an upstanding young adult.
Silver Dollar Car Classic this weekend in Carson City, Hot August Nights in Virginia City

Festivities in Carson City begin Friday at Max Casino, formerly Carson Station, with a street dance, show and shine beginning at 6 p.m. The car show then moves to Mills Park for the weekend.

Twice a year, the Reno Psychic Institute (RPI) brings speakers, healers and vendors from around the region to present information to Northern Nevadans interested in spiritual wellness, natural skin care, local organic food sources, and psychic phenomenon.

Romney Hammers Obama On Foreign Policy, National Security Leaks, In Comments In Reno
Submitted by Nevada News Bureau on Tue, 07/24/2012 - 2:30pmRENO – Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney went on the attack against President Obama today in a speech to attendees of the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention here, criticizing him for national security leaks, weak foreign policy and a failure to seize on political opportunities in such countries as Iran.
Romney, speaking to the same group that Obama addressed on Monday, spent his 27-minute talk focusing on his foreign policy views and the need to maintain a strong military presence.
