Healthy Communities Meets in Fernley this Thursday

Heading into Monday, the first day of July 2019 we leave an action-packed weekend behind us with a long Independence Day holiday week ahead. The activities continue, albeit at a slower place for the first day of the work week. There's art showings and activities for adults and kids, a My Place Hotels job fair, a talk featuring the program director at Nevada Rural Counties Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a swing dance class and more. RSVP Program Director to speak at Democratic Luncheon

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Sandy Severance, program director at Nevada Rural Counties Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). A 501(c)(3) non-profit, RSVP has a 43-year record of service to the elderly and other citizens in need of assistance in all 15 of Nevada's rural counties. Volunteers 55 and older are provided meaningful opportunities to draw on their lifetime of experience to serve their communities in a variety of settings.

Nevada veterans of the United States military can take advantage of free legal services offered by the Nevada Attorney General's Office of Military Legal Assistance (OMLA), said Special Assistant Attorney General Nic K. Danna.

Susan Haas Named director, CEO of Retired Senior Volunteer Program

The Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program Board of Directors has named Susan Haas as Executive Director and chief executive officer. Haas began work with the RSVP, based in Carson City, in 2007 as program director after serving for 8 years as Deputy Chief of Staff for Lt. Governor Lorraine Hunt.

In 2012 she was promoted to Director of Marketing and Development.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program Board of Directors has appointed Susan Haas as Interim Executive Director and CEO. Haas began work with the organization in 2007 as Program Director then was promoted in 2012 to Director of Development.
