The sentiment rings true in Carson City for two very special employees at Pioneer High School, Phyllis Atkinson and Monica Ward. They were nominated by their peers to be recognized for their tremendous efforts. Mrs. Atkinson is the educator of the year and Ms. Ward is the classified employee of the year.
Nevada Letters About Literature student competition winners named; advance to national competition
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 04/29/2019 - 11:16amNevada Humanities has announced the winners of the statewide Letters About Literature program. 243 students from Nevada submitted entries to the national competition at the Library of Congress, and nine Nevada students placed in the top three of their respective judging categories and will be honored in a ceremony in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The first place winners in each category will represent Nevada at the national competition in Washington, D.C.

Nevada receives grant to improve education outcomes for homeless school students
