Attendees by the hundreds filled the Change Companies Stage on Minnesota St. at the Brewery Arts Center to soak in a warm summer night with a pair of terrific live performances.

Participants will use thermometers and observe whether heat is created or extinguished. The experiment will also help them learn about Celsius and Fahrenheit.

There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, plus the Nevada State Museum will host 2 behind the scenes tours in natural history and anthropology. Plus, the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road kicks off its three-day event with a Capital 15 Fun Ride and Free Clunker Crit Ride. Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

These photos of the wave of standing lenticular clouds were taken by Nicole Hooper in Dayton. The first three show the range of the cloud formations and the fourth photo was taken Wednesday morning, where Hooper notes "this morning was pretty too."

This is the fourth year in a row Carson City has won the grant to make the concert series possible.
