Emily Richardson, 17-years-old, Sarah Woods, 17-years-old, Keira Serpa, 13-years-old, were all recognized as Gold Key winners.

The weather should be dryer and warmer as the weekend progresses but have back-up plans for your bar-be-que, just in case. From the Downtown Carson City Ghost Walk to the Rockin’ Rib Fest at Casino Fandango, a day hike with Muscle Powered to the Spring Blinky Man night-time costumed bike pub crawl – this weekend is chock-full of fun for locals and visitors alike, for the young and young-at-heart.

Carson Lodge Poker Night Fundraiser - Open to All

All proceeds from the event will benefit Masonic youth organizations: Carson High School scholarships, Rainbow Girls, Carson High School Safe Graduation and the preservation fund of the original V&T Railroad Depot.

Senator Square: Carson High senior projects are more than a graduation requirement
Submitted by editor on Sat, 12/24/2016 - 7:31pmRaynna Jackson began helping with Toys for Tots at the Ron Wood center before Thanksgiving in order to fulfill her CHS Senior Project graduation requirement; she decided to help give underprivileged children a Merry Christmas.
She started by putting boxes at CHS and her mother’s place of employment, Natel Company. Toys for Tots serves more than 2,000 Carson City area kids every Christmas, and Raynna took this personally; she wanted to help bring in even more gifts. Raynna ultimately facilitated the gathering of 2 large boxes of toys.
Senator Square: Students beat teachers in Carson High School dodgeball tournament
Submitted by editor on Sun, 12/18/2016 - 6:55amThe annual Carson High School Dodgeball Tournament took place Dec. 6-16 in the Carson High School big gym during lunch, and both the victory and bragging rights went to the students and not to the teachers.
The competition was fierce with rubber balls flying all over the place and many of the younger CHS teachers strutting their stuff out on the gym floor, battling feverishly to defeat the students.
