The Virginia & Truckee Railroad opened its 2010 season with completely booked train rides over Memorial Day weekend. The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department is asking local residents to participate in an online survey to assess the community’s future indoor recreation and sports needs.

This survey is the first step in evaluating the need for new indoor recreation space. The online survey takes about two minutes to complete and is being done through a survey program called “Surveymonkey.”

The online survey will be available for the public to fill out beginning Wednesday morning, May 5 and will end on Friday afternoon, May 14. The survey will be available in both English and Spanish.

CARSON CITY — Nevada is launching a new summer ad campaign aimed largely at the massive online and television markets to entice visitors to the Silver State, Lt. Gov. Brian K. Krolicki, Nevada Commission on Tourism chair, announced this week.

“Our goal is to convince spring and summer travelers that Nevada is their best bet to experience an unforgettable vacation for outstanding value,” Krolicki said. “We’re taking our ads to the busiest marketplaces, where potential travelers spend the most time and are more likely to be influenced.”
