The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection (Commission) announced that it will accept applications for three open judicial positions until 5 p.m. January 28, 2015. Ex-convict jailed for violating conditions of parole from prison

A 34-year-old Exeter, Calif., man was booked into Carson City Jail May 6 and faces a felony charge of being in violation of condition of his parole from prison.

Matthew Michael Ramos was jailed without bail, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report. The State of Nevada warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 13, 2012 for failure to comply with conditions laid out when he was granted parole on March 19, 2012.

Governor appoints Minden attorney to Ninth Judicial District Court

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed Minden attorney Nathan “Tod” Young to the Ninth Judicial District Court, Department 1 vacancy.

“Tod’s breadth of experience which comes from owning his own law practice to serving as an arbitrator will serve as a strong foundation for the bench,” Governor Brian Sandoval said in a Dec. 21 statement. “Combined with having served as a legal guardian, I am confident that Tod will be a valuable addition to the Ninth Judicial District Court.”
