The Pirates Are Coming! Pirate Invasion of the Carson Mall Saturday, September 16th, 11am - 5pm; Age of Discovery Productions presents A Pirate’s Life.

Captain Dogfish Briggins is a collector of all things colonial, Primitive, and Seaworthy. He has a private arsenal to make Pirate Lords green with envy, as he could outfit the whole crew. This Saturday at the Carson Mall, you can listen to the Captain’s tales, learn about the firearms, clothes and lifestyles of the era. Meet “Tova” the parrot, get your photo taken with her, and more, mateys!

Robert Burke Presents 'The Mountain Man' at Feb. 17 Carson City Leisure Hour Club

Members of the Carson City Leisure Hour Club will hear about the exploits of 'The Mountain Man' at their dinner meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The session will be presented by retired California State Park Ranger, Robert Burke.

A California State Park Ranger for more than 30 years, Burke will present a session on the story of "The Mountain Man." Guests will find out who the mountain man was; why he went to the mountains, when he went into the mountains and how he survived.

Mountain Man Rendezvous

Step back in time and visit an authentic mountain man camp during the Mountain Man Rendezvous Friday April 29 through Sunday May 1. See Mountain Man skills at it's finest. Tomahawk and knife competition. Long "gong" shooting for distance. Events all day. Shooting begins at 10 a.m. Take Rhoades Street up past Greenhouse Garden Center to dirt road.
