Carson City Sheriff's Office investigators are asking the public's help in identifying a man suspected in the theft of a wallet after entering into a local business.

Special Olympics Northern California and Nevada will host the annual South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge fundraiser on Saturday, March 18, in the icy waters of Lake Tahoe at Zephyr Cove Resort. The Plunge will be featured during a full weekend of events and activities to benefit Special Olympics.

Special Olympics Nevada and Northern California will host the annual South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge fundraiser beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, in the icy waters of Lake Tahoe at Zephyr Cove Resort. The 2017 Polar Plunge will feature a “space odyssey” theme and raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics and its athletes.

Carson City activates Emergency Operation Center to respond to flooding

UPDATE: Carson City activated its Emergency Operations Center. Staff is now expecting rain tonight through Friday morning, with a low around 39. Winds could gust up to 45 miles per hour.
The City’s storm drain system is beyond capacity and water is running out of some of the storm drains and manholes and there is water over many of the roadways. Please avoid flooded areas and stay away from the river.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a female who was using a stolen credit card. On Jan. 16 an unknown woman was captured on video using a stolen credit card. The credit card was stolen during a vehicle burglary on the same day.

Julia recently graduated Carson High School and is now attending the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

For brothers Jeff and Paul Young of Carson City, becoming professional brewers just seemed to fit like the right pair of sneakers.

Their company, the Shoe Tree Brewing Company, is scheduled to break ground on its roughly 2,000 square-foot brewery and retail space Monday on the Carson Hot Springs Resort property located at 1500 Old Hot Springs Road in Carson City.

Lief Larson, Carson City CrossFit First in Northern Nevada to get CrossFit Level 3

Last week, Lief Larson was able to accomplish his goal of becoming a CrossFit Level 3 Trainer (CF-L3). After submitting over 1,500 hours of coaching experience and obtaining his CrossFit Level 2 Certificate, CrossFit Headquarters approved Lief to test for his Level 3 Certificate. He is only the fifth individual in Nevada, and the first CrossFit coach in northern Nevada, to be a Certified CrossFit Level 3 (CF-L3) Trainer. His other CrossFit certifications include CrossFit Powerlifting, CrossFit Mobility, and CrossFit Weightlifting.

Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Deputies make three arrests for misdemeanors

Carson City Sheriff's deputies made three misdemeanor arrests on Saturday:

—A 28-year-old female from Carson City was arrested near North Lompa Street and Sherman Road on Saturday for misdemeanor petit larceny (accessory). After questioning the female, a 21-year-old male accomplice was was arrested in the 400 block of East Lee Street for petit larceny with additional misdemeanor charges of a felon in violation of bail conditions. His bail is set at $3,400, while the female is being held in-leu of $250 bail.

Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man jailed on theft and felony drug charge

A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and petit larceny after allegedly stealing merchandise from a local business, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
