Mental health is Nevada's albatross

During this year’s legislative session, my wife and I approached our state legislators about resources for Nevada’s most underserved population: The mentally ill.
There is a health crisis in our state, one which has grown into an epidemic across the nation, but one that is especially endemic right here in the Silver State.
Having lived more than twelve years in a state that seems to cater to many human vices, this comes as no surprise to me.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

Each year, nearly 4 million dogs in the U.S. enter animal shelters. Each year, up to 40% never find a home. Luckily, at Nevada Humane Society that is not the case — but still, there are plenty of dogs who need a home this October during Adopt a Shelter Dog month.

On behalf of the critters, CASI thanks you!

The people in our community continue to be incredibly supportive of CASI’s mission to help homeless, abandoned and lost animals have the best chance possible at being adopted or reunited with families that love them. Thank you!!
