The holiday movie premieres of “Feliz NaviDAD” and “Once Upon A Main Street” on Saturday will feature different venues in Carson City. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the KTVN Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn, Homestead Holidays at the Silver Saddle Ranch and more. The Polar Express Train Rides are sold out for the rest of the year, but Santa Train express rides are steaming up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum over the weekend. Read on for details.

SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. — Join park staff for some holiday cheer and pioneer traditions at Buckland Station. Take a self-guided tour, help decorate the historic house for the holidays, and enjoy sweet treats and period crafts.

Silver City Arts group's Saturday, Dec. 7 holiday event from noon to 4pm includes music by cellists Diane Kotik and Becky Crowe, a holiday craft activity for all ages led by Erich and Chali Haugen, and complimentary sweets.

The event also includes opportunities to buy unique gifts made by Comstock locals. Some of the items for sale include:

Community Roots & Shoots’ annual Holiday Open House is Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 209 Dayton Valley Road.

This past Saturday, the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department held an interpretive Holiday Hike. Wrapping up the Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch’s Holiday Open House, our group of about 20 hikers ventured out and explored parts of the Mexican Ditch and River Trails.

Good day Carson City, it is Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. With steady rain in the city early this morning, slushy snow in the foothills and heavy snow in the Sierra, we are on our way to winter even though it is still technically fall. It sure is beginning to look like Christmas, especially as we head into the weekend, with Friday's Silver and SnowFlakes Festival of Lights at the capitol and Saturday's downtown Holiday Crawl.

It’s beginning to look, and sound, a lot like Christmas. Let the Tintabulations Handbell Ensemble entertain you with the in the warmth and magic of the holiday season during their free Winter Wandering concerts. ‘Elf’ is a modern holiday classic, and you’ll find it on the big screen today and Wednesday at the Galaxy Theater. The Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation is holding an Open House at the Wungnema House in Mills Park Sunday, Dec. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The Silver Saddle Ranch (SSR) is a 703-acre working ranch located between the Pine Nut Mountains to the east and Prison Hill to the west.
