Events, happenings around the Carson City region during Father's Day weekend

There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.
Nevada Wild Horses fundraiser to be held at the Governor’s Mansion June 15

Submitted by admin on Thu, 09/22/2011 - 11:00amWarren Engine Company #1 will unveil a recently resorted circa 1900 chemical fire cart at the group's fundraising gala on Friday, Sept. 23, 5-9 p.m. in the Nevada Room at the Governors Mansion.
The event will feature live music by Mike and the Liabilities Band, led by retired Carson City District Court Judge Mike Griffin. There will be a ho-host bar, hors d'oeuvres, raffles and a silent auction. Cost is $30.
Carson Democratic Women With Advocates Food Drive

All registered Democratic Women are welcome to help. Please meet at Headquarters; 111 W. Telegraph Street at 11:30 AM to carpool to the mansion. Pianist delivers benefit performance at Brewery Arts Center
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 06/19/2010 - 1:05amPianist Dr. Ron Williams performed the 50th Anniversary Recital of Toccatas and Sonatas Thursday night at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall.
The event was put on as a fundraiser for Carson City Symphony’s String for the School Program. More than fifty people attended, ranging from children to seniors.
The Recital featured songs written and originally played by J.S. Bach, D. Scarlatti, Paradisi, Haydn, Schumann, Beethoven and Ravel.
Williams was accompanied by his wife Genevieve Williams, who also assisted him while he was performing.
