I left the GOP yesterday, at least, officially. I may have just changed my voter registration to nonpartisan, but I didn’t vote for Trump back in 2016.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for assistance in identifying a subject involved in a destruction of property case that happened at the Carson City Republican Party headquarters.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating incidents of vandalism that have occurred at the Carson City Republican Party headquarters. The latest incident was Monday, August 10 and involved spray paint tagging and an American flag that was intentionally cut nearly in half.

The Assembly Republican Caucus addressed its plan Monday to reopen Nevada, proposing a framework, establishing a regional plan and a bi-partisan task force to advise on a strategy. It calls for Nevada to join the California, Oregon and Washington Western States Pact; establish a regional plan to modify Nevada’s stay at home orders and the caucus wants to immediately establish a curbside model that will allow non-essential retail businesses to open.

Carson City Republican Women will hear Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske via a virtual meeting on Tuesday, April 21 at 12 noon. Secretary of State Cegavske will address, at the request of every County Recorder due to the Coronavirus, the need to make our upcoming primary an election by mail-in ballots.

The Carson City Republican Committee is conducting the 2020 Carson City Republican Convention virtually this year due to the COVID-19 challenges we face.

Several candidates, from the Democratic, Republican and Independent parties are vying for the seat of Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, currently held by Mark Amodei who is running again to be re-elected. The 2nd Congressional District covers the northern portion of Nevada, including Carson City, and the counties of: Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humbolt, Lander, some of Lyon County, Pershing, Storey, and Washoe.

Nevada’s caucuses are over. So now what? I saw this headline and figured it’s time to let all the Republicans in our city know what is next.

Heading into the backend of the work week, events lined up Thursday include day 1 of the 7th annual International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center, a cardio and strength connection class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, a free information session on the legal and financial aspects of long-term care hosted by Carson Tahoe Care Center, the Carson City GOP will host a meeting to discuss precinct organization, plus trivia night at Bella Vita Bistro, a Muscle Powered afternoon hike and a lecture on women’s suffrage movement history in Nevada. Precinct organization comes from people who live in your neighborhood. They are volunteer activists. They work diligently to know your concerns; they promote your issues and concerns to your local and state elected officials.

PAHRUMP — On the same day that Democrats across the state were helping to choose their party’s presidential nominee, Elizabeth Herring sat in the back of the ballroom of the Pahrump Nugget and smiled as Nevada Republicans in the room cheered for four more years of President Donald Trump.

Heading into Thursday, activities lined up include a cardio and strength connection class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, a Polka Dot Powerhouse Women's Group luncheon at Red's Old 395 Grill, art showings, live music with Dale Poune at Gather, a meeting of the Carson City GOP at Casino Fandango featuring speaker Bob Potts from the Governor's Office of Economic Development, and more.

Carson City Republican Women's Club will hold its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Casino Fandango. The guest speaker is GOP Assemblywoman Dr. Robin Titus who will address the issues facing rural and urban Nevada as the remaining new laws that were passed in the last session go into effect.

Partly sunny skies and cool temperatures are expected Thursday with a warmup in time for the weekend. Events ahead around the capital city include a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, a discussion on holiday stress and dementia offered by Carson Tahoe Expressions Memory Care, and an afternoon hike hosted by Muscle Powered. Also ahead, Carson City's GOP will host a discussion with several political leaders representing the capital city. There will be a 'Glorious Expanse' artist reception at WNC Gallery, plus library activities and more.

Going into the final stretch of the work week Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 will bring cool conditions, a slight chance of rain and some sunshine. Activities around the capital city include a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, a Muscle Powered hike at Silver Saddle Ranch, a rally at the legislative building, modern western square dancing lessons, art showings, library activities and more.
