June 24, 2024 - 1:00pm The speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Aaron Sims, Chair of the Rural Nevada Democratic Caucus. In honor of Pride Month, he spoke last Monday about challenges faced by gay people in rural communities. This Monday he will speak about Rural Caucus efforts to engage with progressive-minded individuals in remote parts of the state.

As June is Pride Month, Aaron will be talking about the origins of the Pride movement, why it was important that it progressed the way it did, and what it means in today's political environment. He may also lightly cover his own personal coming out story and how it was affected by living in rural communities all his life.
