Vocalist Jakki Ford is the guest vocalist for the jazz jam at Living the Good Life.

Today is the kick-off of Motivation Monday at Adams Hub for Innovation in Carson City. Changes to WNC’s Business program are providing students with important community contacts, real-world training, marketable skills, online course offerings and the opportunity to transfer to a four-year business program as a junior.

Feeling nostalgic? The 20th Anniversary of Space Jam is playing at the Galaxy Theater in case you need a fix of the 90s. Adams Hub for Innovation, 111 W. Proctor Street in Carson City, was jammed with visitors enjoying food, refreshments and conversation Wednesday evening during the grand opening of the company's all-new event space called The Studio.

Adams Hub for innovation is celebrating the opening of The Studio at Adams Hub, a new collaboration and event space. The community is invited to the launch party, which will be on Wednesday, August 3, from 5-7 p.m.

The approximately 1,500 square foot, multi-purpose facility is being added to the business incubator and co-working habitat, and will be host to classes, workshops and community events, including a new chapter of the award-winning Nevada entrepreneur and business-mentoring organization, Entrepreneurs Assembly.

EA at SNC Tahoe working sessions are held on the first Wednesday of every month. Students and community members with business ideas and businesses that need help are welcome to attend. The event is also open to potential mentors.
Each monthly session provides an opportunity for you to set and accomplish new goals in moving your business forward. During the sessions you receive support from experienced mentors and your peers on your business.

Nevada Dynamics wins $50,000 UNR Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition award

The University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Business announced this year’s winner of the Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition Monday, March 9. Nevada Dynamics, a hardware and software safety solution for unmanned autonomous systems, was the winner of the $50,000 award given each year to the student team who presents the best business plan.

“Sontag is one of the largest awards for a student business competition that exists at a single American university,” College of Business Dean Greg Mosier said.

Have a business idea? Learn ways to move your idea from concept to reality at IdeaSpark! a free workshop Wednesday, Nov. 19, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Adams Hub for Innovation in Carson City.

IdeaSpark! helps potential entrepreneurs develop their big idea, opportunity, invention or start-up vision and then teaches how to take that idea to the next level of turning it into a successful business.

The workshop is interactive and fast-paced. Attendees will learn how to be scrappy and utilize lean business model principles.

WNC students can participate in Carson City business Startup Initiative

Western Nevada College students are participating in a fall workshop series to foster their interest in launching a business.

Adams Hub for innovation of Carson City and Entrepreneurs Assembly, a Nevada nonprofit corporation, launched IdeaSpark! in October in a collaborative effort to bolster the entrepreneurial sector of the economy for Carson City and the surrounding area.

Entrepreneurs Assembly and Adams Hub for Innovation are pleased to announce a collaborative partnership to create, educate and encourage entrepreneurs via a comprehensive business start-up training program and mentoring initiative to launch this October in Carson City.

Both organizations are united in their missions to help develop, nurture and strengthen the entrepreneurial community in the greater Carson City area.
