Polls in Nevada open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, enjoy another day of sunny skies with a hike, brisk walk or bike ride around town. There's both a morning and evening hike offered through Muscle Powered or you can simply walk through downtown Carson City and alongside the capitol building. Also featured today are activities that promote diabetes awareness through Carson Tahoe Health, numerous art showings, local political party election night events and a classic film being shown at the Brewery Arts Center.

His appointed in January 2003 peaked a law enforcement career in Carson City and with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, culminating in 36 years of enforcement experience.

Funnyman Adam Stone headlines this week’s Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget for those needing a good laugh. The Carson Area Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will gather to honor those who have given their all and have yet to come home during a POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Grounds.

BSA Troop 33 to Host the 2nd Annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 08/04/2015 - 8:36amBSA Troop 33 is excited to announce it will be hosting its 2nd Annual “Send a Scout to Camp” Car and Truck Show Fundraiser on August 15, 2015 at Carson City’s Fuji Park.
The Show will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; award ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Registration is $40 per entry. There is still time for pre-registration or you can register on the day of the event. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, one lunch meal ticket, and a dash plaque.
WNC Softball Team Fundraiser Nets Glowing Returns
Submitted by editor on Tue, 03/24/2015 - 9:10pmWestern Nevada College’s softball team got glowing results from its annual early Saturday evening 5K Glow Run in Carson City. After adding some after-dinner entertainment to increase the number of participants, the Wildcat Glow Run on Saturday, March 21 attracted more than 100 participants to help raise approximately $5,00 for the softball program.
“It was our best turnout; the theme helped,” said WNC softball coach Leah Wentworth. “Thanks to El Charro Avitia for donating the food. It has added incentive for people to come.”
WNC Softball Splits with Snow College

In the first match-up, WNC fell to Snow College 7-1, Dakota Robinson started in the circle. She went five innings, and was replaced by Kristina George. Robinson took the loss for the Wildcats. In the second game, pitcher Nicole Lesniak started for the Wildcats. She went the distance to earn the win. Final score, 7-4 WNC.

Just Sayin’ is this months featured talent in the Brewery Arts Center’s Eclectic Electric Series.

Dancers Donate New Floor

Carson St., Carson City. The new floor was installed by volunteers from the dance community on Jan. 18. Both groups use the restaurant for the following dancing events.
