Carson City's 36th Holiday Treat Concert happens this Sunday at Community Center

The Carson City Symphony and Carson Chamber Singers, joined by the Victorian Dancers, present the 36th annual Holiday Treat concert this Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center.

Festival of Lights, Project Empty Bowls, Santa train and more: Carson City region readies for festive weekend

Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! Capital City Arts Initiative 'Faces and Places' Artists' Reception canceled

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents an exhibition, "Faces and Places" by nine northern Nevada artists in the Community Center’s Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition runs through February 27, 2020. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room; the artists will give brief talks about their work at 5:30 p.m.

Bill died peacefully at home in hospice care surrounded by loved ones.

Surrounded by the family and caregivers that loved and cared for him, on Nov. 8, 2019, he passed peacefully and sweetly from this life to reunite with his family who have pre-deceased him. Johnny was blessed with being born and living with Down's Syndrome for 66 years, 10 months in mortality.

Carson City’s ‘Flavors of India’ to host fundraiser Saturday for family of fallen deputy

Last week, Deputy Dhaliwal was gunned down during a traffic stop in his native Houston, and has caused national mourning for the Sikh officer who made it his duty to protect his community while also bridging cultural gaps.
