The Nevada Artists Association is excited to present the 2020 “Summer Show." This judged show represents a collection of 74 plus photographs, paintings, drawings, mixed media and 3D pieces by Nevada Artists Association members and non-members from Northern Nevada.

As we begin to round out the work week heading into Thursday, July 18, 2019, we're looking at the same amount of sun with a daytime high around 90. Not bad for the middle of July. Activities lined up include a Muscle Powered hike, a cultural awareness conference at Carson Valley Inn, an artist reception at Artsy Fartsy, art classes at Rustically Divine, Thursday Cruise Night, the first "Third Thursday" farmer's market and barbecue in Dayton, a presentation on the Apollo Lunar Mission at the Carson City Library and more.

Heading into Wednesday, June 12, 2019 means we are half way through the work week. Temperatures will be around the 90 mark with a chance of afternoon showers. Activities lined up include art classes, a hike designed for tots through Carson City Parks and Recreation, a Ninja aerobic class at Yaple's Ballroom and you can hear local author CW Bayer talk about three of his books on area history at Browsers Corner Book Store. Whether you are a new or continuing watercolor student, learn to splash and play while discovering the expansive possibilities of watercolor. In each 4-week class, we will explore several different approaches to watercolor. We will also investigate art fundamental topics concentrating on one topic per 4-week session.

Students may choose their own subjects, with instructor input as to relevance based on individual skill level. Supplies required.

Colleen Reynolds will teach the second in a series of four watercolor workshops, sponsored by the Artsy Fartsy Creative Center in Carson City. Each workshop is independent but reinforces skills learned in others. Designed for beginner to intermediate adult painters. Book soon! The first workshop sold out. On the first day, students will "play" with color and other watercolor supplies to learn technique. On the second day, we will paint from a beautiful flower bouquet and/or photos. Lunch provided.

When Artsy Fartsy owner Jeffery Pace moved his art gallery out of the tidy 400 square-foot cottage at Telegraph Square and into a Victorian home around the corner along Nevada Street, his plan was to keep the original building and turn it into an artist studio.

Artsy Fartsy Creative Center hosts instructor Colleen Reynolds for a 2-day Watercolor Workshop, Jul 28-29; 10AM-4PM each day. All Supplies Provided! Adult beginning to intermediate level painters welcome. $180 for 12 hours of instruction + supplies + lunch. The first day will be focused on learning about paint and paper with fun exercises and no pressure. The second day, students will paint 1 or 2 paintings. Students take home all creative efforts produced. Colleen Reynolds has a BA of Fine Art, an MS degree in Education and over 7 years of experience teaching watercolor.
