Meet Maurice, Carson City's Constitutionalist! (opinion)
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 09/02/2020 - 7:10amOn Maurice White,
The deceitful thing about words is that they can have multiple meanings. Words take on connotations because of the way people use them. In that sense, yes, a “constitutionalist” could be considered anyone who advocates the defense and protection of the American Constitution.
Gilson Going Solo at PLNU Chamber Orchestra Concerto Concert
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 04/19/2019 - 11:14amGoing solo, regardless the venture, can be a scary thought. Add a violin, a complex classical piece, and an audience of a couple hundred music enthusiasts, and a whole different kind of focus is required.
Such is not a new experience for 2018 Sierra Lutheran High School alumna Aleyna Gilson, who will find the spotlight on her again at the end of this month when she performs Mendelssohn’s concerto in E minor at the Orchestra Concerto Concert at Point Loma Nazarene University, in San Diego.
Can Hoda Muthana lose her citizenship retroactively? (opinion)
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 03/20/2019 - 3:10pmAmerican ISIS bride Hoda Muthana wants to return from Syria. Guy Farmer agrees with Trump that she shouldn’t be allowed to come home because on the day of her birth her father was a UN diplomat exempt from US citizenship laws. Farmer believes “we should slam our golden door right in Ms. Muthana’s photogenic face.”

Column: All Roads Lead To Jerusalem/ Israel: Conclusion
Submitted by admin on Tue, 06/13/2017 - 1:26pmAccording to Dr. David Jeremiah in his new book, Is This The End?, many of his friends in the literary world as well as personal acquaintances, are asking this question also: are we indeed reaching the end times here on this earth? How many stressful and horrific events have to take place before some one, some where, and at some time erupts into a non-reversible action which is going to bring about another non-reversible action? Is this where the world is headed? Where to find confidence and calm in the midst of world events? Whom do we trust? Where do we place our trust?
Column: All Roads Lead To Israel/Jerusalem, Part 2
Submitted by admin on Wed, 05/10/2017 - 11:21amMost of us love a great musical show, and one such example is Fiddler on the Roof, where the poor Jewish milkman, Tevye, is burdened with poverty while trying to maintain long-standing traditions and cope with oppression from the anti-Semitic Russians. At one point, he cries out to God, "I know, I know. We are your chosen people. But once in a while, can't You choose someone else?"
Out of all the nations in the world, why did God choose Israel? In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses explained why:
Obama's Hiroshima Hypocrisy vs Memorial Day
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 05/30/2016 - 5:23pmThe recent traitorous attempt by President Obama to rewrite the history of America's war against Japanese imperialism, ignores the lessons of history. Obama displays the perspective of a typical truth impaired, ignorant, partially educated, affirmative action, indoctrinated college student lacking basic knowledge of philosophy, economics and history.

Barbecue Ribs and Christianity On A Lazy Summer Day
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 06/28/2014 - 10:48amIt started out as one of those lazy days in Carson City, where it’s not too hot, but it’s not too cold!
It’s just right!
But, when the mercury begins to creep into the triple digits, I am glad I take advantage of the cooler temperatures early in the summer season, because I hate to cook on my patio when it is 100 degrees in the shade!
This is the reason I go straight to my favorite BBQ restaurant for my semi-annual feasting of pork ribs, with corn bread, cole slaw and beans, coupled with my favorite adult libation.
A Christian-Jew?
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 12/17/2013 - 2:31pmAs we celebrate Christmas this year, let us remember again together that we are celebrating the birth of a Jewish Rabbi named Jesus. Many Christians and Jews dispute this fact of history. They tell me that one can be Jewish or Christian but all must choose between Christianity or Judaism. Yet when I revisit history, I realize that I am both Christian and Jew by following the teachings of a Jewish Rabbi. If you think about it, you may agree that most Christians are Christian-Jews that have forgotten history.
