Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 06/13/2023 - 2:19pmUPDATE: Carson City’s Computer Corps Technology Learning Center is hosting opportunity workshops this summer for volunteers at their location, 4630 US Highway 50 E.
Individuals anywhere from 9 to 90 are invited to attend this program, where they’ll be able to learn about 26 different opportunities for gaining life skills and helping others.
All volunteers will earn a computer after 48 hours of volunteering, and snacks and refreshments will be served. Free lunch Monday through Saturday at noon.

2nd Annual Western Heritage Celebration at Dangberg Historic Park

The event’s second year will include a heritage quilting presentation, a Victorian dressing presentation, songs about local history and cowboy poetry, as well as gold panning and other children’s activities.

The festival will include Dutch oven cooking, a heritage quilting presentation, Chautauquas of local historical figures, honky-tonk guitar and jug music, as well as a day filled with children’s crafts and activities.
